Inspirational Session

Trading Anxiety for Peace

55% of Americans said they felt stressed the day before the survey.  45% said they are worried a lot more often than they’re not.  Researchers say anxiety has a direct correlation to heart palpitations, irritable bowel syndrome and migraines.  Psychology today said 85% of things people worry about never happen.

With the 15% that did happen, 75% of the people discovered either they were able to handle the problem better than they thought or the problem actually taught them a lesson worth learning.  In other words, 97% of what you worry about either won't happen or won't be nearly as bad as you thought it would be.

It is harder to discern the voice of God when we are stressed and anxious.  We don't make good decisions in that state. Let's talk about trading anxiety and stress for peace...lasting peace.

Spouse Event

We are working with Volunteer Orlando to do a team building and art event for the spouses this year. Volunteer Orlando is bringing activities geared towards helping children in the local area to the Gaylord, and then Volunteer Orlando is delivering the items to a local elementary school in need of help. The spouses will be broken out into teams where they will be painting piggy banks to help children increase their financial literacy (the piggy banks come with books about saving money), creating bracelets utilizing beads resembling morse code that the children will later decipher, and creating puppets to help children with shyness. There will also be a beer and wine bar along with nonalcoholic drinks so they can have a little something while they work on the activities.
